Uploading Your Own Music For MSN Media Player
You may wish to use your own music that is stored on your computer in your MSN media player on your space. This is not possible to do directly, however if you upload your music to a web-hosting site first and use the URL for your hosted music on the web-hosting site it is possible to play your own music in your space.

Filelodge - Requires you to fill out a simple registration and to have an email address to be able to activate the account. This site can be used to host images but is excellent for hosting music and video files. It has a 500MB storage limit but with no bandwidth limits and each individual file can be no larger that 50MB in size.
- First create an account with filelodge follow there instructions carefully. Once you have filled out the registration, Filelodge will send you an email to your nominated email address you are required to click a link within this email to activate your Filelodge account
- Log into your File Lodge account once you have created and activated your new account
- Click "Upload" (which will take you to the main upload page where you are able to upload three files at a time)
- Click Browse and locate the music or video file that you want to upload
- Hightlight the file by first clicking on it and then select it for uploading by Clicking "Open"
- The Target of the file that you want to upload should now appear in the top line of your upload page
- Click "Upload" to begin uploading your file (remember that the time it takes to upload your file depends on the speed of your internet connection at the time of upload as wll as the size of the file you are attempting to upload, for example i use an internet connection that is very quick however it can take me up to 10 minutes just to upload one song. I suggest starting the upload just before you are going to do something else other than using your computer, that way when you finish eating dinner or watching your favourite TV show or whatever it is, hopefully you will come back to see that the upload has finished while you have been away)
- If your file as been uploaded with no problem you will now see comfirmation that it was successful
- Click "OK" to continue to your file manager or "My Files" where your uploads are stored
- Right Click on your uploaded music or video and Click "Copy Shortcut" (you can also test your upload by double clicking on the file in your "My Files", which will open it in Windows Media Player)
- You can then either Paste the shortcut straight into your MSN Media Player on your space or you may choose to Paste the shortcut into a new Notepad document to keep a record of your URL for your music or video

- Once the code has been Pasted into your Media Player and you have Clicked "Save"
- Click "Preview" to test your new music or video
- Done!
